As part of efforts to ensure safety on our roads, Metro Mass Transit Limited (MMTL) has organized a training program to equip the company’s drivers across the Country with the necessary skills, knowledge and techniques to navigate obstacles effectively and efficiently while maintaining a high level of safety and professionalism.
The goal of the training was to avoid accidents or at least minimize crashes on the various road networks where our buses operate across the country. It was also meant to enhance public confidence in our service and strengthen the fortunes of the company.
The training program was organized in collaboration with the VDL Support Team jointly led by Henk Visschers and Luc Vervaene.
The Training which was held on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Kings University College in Accra, focused on defensive driving, observation skills, communication and maneuvering techniques, emergency preparedness, continual evaluation and feedback.
Obstacle Driving is a balance-challenging task that keeps drivers alert on potential disasters, thereby helping them to develop a defensive mindset on the road.
The Managing Director of MMTL, Mr. Albert Adu Boahen, who personally participated in the exercise, commended the VDL Team for initiating the program to upgrade the knowledge and skills of the company’s drivers.
He advised the drivers to always keep a defensive mindset on the roads to avoid accidents and crashes.
“Your life and that of our cherished passengers are dear to the company, hence, it is important to take this training seriously and put into practice all that you have been taught. Safety on the road is our number priority”, he noted.
